Police spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, calls for investigation into viral video of police officers assaulting a man who refused to release his phone to them

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has called for an investigation into the viral video of some police officers assaulting a man for allegedly refusing to release his phone to them.

 

Twitter user @cashy0206 who was the victim said he was on his way to see his father with a friend when the officers stopped him at Oko Oba Abattoir in the Agege area of Lagos state for their routine stop and search. He stated that the officers got mad at him and started assaulting him because he refused for them to search his phone. He posted the video of the assaulted which was recorded by his friend and demanded justice.

Reacting to his tweets, Adejobi who described the incident as ‘’disgusting”, ordered the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, to fish out the men.
